Many cities have independent theatres that play non mainstream movies. In Calgary there was the globe and the place in Kensington. I know a playwright who almost got taken on my Netflix to create a show - Netflix could be an option. Finally, the movie could “go on tour” similar to how bands go on tour. There are smaller film festivals too, I think the “fringe fest” in Edmonton was happening recently. Not any real advice, sorry, just brainstorming

Oh - theatre (as in, live theatre) companies were hit extremely hard by Covid closures. Many look to make revenue by renting the spaces for events. I know some theatre people who used to use the spaces to watch wrestle mania when there were no bookings. It could be worth looking into. A “double feature” like death proof planet terror would be fun too if there were another indie around who’s work you respect a lot

D00d everyone is doing digital theaters these days, like fortnite really fucked up the scene, maybe a vrchat/sansar/secondlife showing?
