While I wait on the musicians to finish their work for “M doll” I’ve been adding new features to Nightmare Puppeteer.
I added the ability to make heads and bodies from clay
Now making it so users can add fbx files rigged with Mixamo, Daz3d and MakeHuman and use them as custom bodies or heads
I enhanced and upgraded the fbx as a Prop feature
I also started throwing ideas around for the next film. It will most likely star the M doll as I really like that dude as an actor 😁
I will also probably use the M doll Unity project as a template for the new film as I created/coded so many custom film tools I don’t want to have to rewrite/import them all.
Unity is my movie studio- the project is my backlot that I shoot on. I can get at least one more movie out of this backlot, maybe two more.
When I’m done adding new features to Nightmare Puppeteer and get them into a stable release I’ll start work on the next film-
I learned from working on M doll I don’t need to storyboard when working with Unity- so there will be no storyboards(I did storyboard all of M doll but ended up not using %90 of them)
The next film won’t have any dialogue or text either like M doll so there will be no script either-
Just an outline of events which I as a director get to shoot inside the engine and see everything in realtime- its a pretty awesome way to make films so I’m going to kick them out fast while I’m into it-
I love this whole idea! Especially for someone like me that just "wail-tails" it, makes it up as I go and improvises, but I've come to respect professionalism, storyboarding, waterboarding, etc. and realize how important it is, but I'm still stubborn as a stillborn. Hey, I think I just came up with a new name! What do you think?
are you planning to release any of the project files for other artists who are interested in the potential of unity as a film tool?
