If you want to “win” at life or succeed at anything- all you need is to love it more than the next person.
Love causes you to make sacrifices, love will make you do crazy things.
So whatever you want to do or achieve its just that simple- you just have to love it more than anyone else. If you’re not willing to love the “thing” no matter what then you don’t deserve it.
A big part of love is dedication, if you’re not dedicated then you can’t have it.
If you’re familiar with un-requited love- theres ideas about love being an experience YOU are having, its not a mutual feeling- people for example can tell each other that they love each other but that “love” they feel themselves is disconnected from the other person- no one can “give you love”, its a feeling you are having or not having.
The argument is that un-requited love is real love because a person is having a real feeling regardless of whether the target of their love knows they exist or not.
The same goes for your love of your art, your career, your game you’re trying to make, the place in life you’re trying to reach-
So be happy if you have ANY kind of love even if it is un-requited.
My love of my creative life and wanting to keep it drove me to discover other ways to “make a living” that has allowed me to create freely and rekindle my love for film etc-
You don’t give up on things you love-
If you love anything/anyone you have to prove it through long lasting dedication, hard work, understanding and passion.
Kinda of a weird random post I know- just something thats pops into my mind over the years- after I exhaust myself spending long hours/weeks/months/years creating things no one/very few people will experience while I’m still walking around this place I realize I do all this because I love it so much- and I realize I’m able to do the things I do that no one else in the world is doing because I love it more than anyone else.
“Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.”
Mozart
I M a misanthrope but maybe I do these things because I love people too- just not many that are alive today? Maybe I’m making these things for people that don’t exist yet? Maybe not- It doesn’t matter- it won’t change what I do.
Life is a love competition
That which you seek also seeks you. I've always felt creative ideas are like living entities who find their way through me into the physical world. But I also talk to myself a lot, have atomic turquoise hair, and wear welding goggles for no apparent reason. So your mileage may vary. ((hugs))
Life seems OK to me, as long as you still do what you love. Best wishes
